A few of us were concerned when Peter Skuse failed to attend one of our duplicate sessions last week as he had arranged with David Charlton. After some detective work involving a number of bridge club members, I am pleased to confirm that despite being taken ill and having to be admitted to hospital, Peter is now considerably better. His daughter confirming to Gillian Emerson that his health is improving, and his breathing is better. She said he has improved considerably since last week. Peter is expected to need a reasonable time to recover in either hospital or a rehabilitation facility so we may not see him at the club for a little while yet.

Gillian passed on everyone’s thoughts and good wishes.

 Regarding EBU Master Points Promotions, congratulations to Colin Beaver who has attained the rank of Area Master.

 We are still awaiting confirmation of funeral arrangements for George Nash.
