Sadly, I must yet again share some news about a bereavement, as Gillian Emerson’s husband, George passed away over the Easter weekend.

Gillian is a long-standing member of our club who only stepped back from committee and teaching duties at Huddersfield Bridge Club due to George’s illness.

While George was not a bridge player himself, he made a valuable behind the scenes contribution to the smooth running of the club, as he was our handyman for 4-5 years.

There are a number of people whose work at keeping the club running properly goes on unseen like George, but it is certainly appreciated by me and the rest of the committee.

Those members who wish to attend are invited by Gillian to the funeral which is scheduled for 2pm at Huddersfield Crematorium, Fixby on Tuesday 23rd April (St Georges Day) and afterwards at a venue to be confirmed.
